Weekly Workshops

New weekly workshops

LEARN TO DRAW PORTAITS IN JUST 4 WEEKS!

I am now holding weekly Portraiture workshops at the Scawsby Community Centre (on the A635 Barnsley Rd, opposite the Aldi Supermarket) these will run every Friday Evening from 7pm-9pm

The Price will be £10 per Lesson, or you can book 4 lessons for £36

Unlike my weekend courses these are unstructured workshops with no set agenda, this means that I can tailor the tuition to each individual depending on their level of ability, and because the workshops are open ended you can take as long as you like to finish your masterpiece

Ideal for Beginners

If you are new to portraiture then don’t worry - using techniques developed by myself, I can teach anyone regardless of previous experience to paint and draw a reasonably good likeness.

For those who are nervous about drawing portraits for the first time I can even provide 4 week primer courses at my private studio for £36.00 so that you can benefit from 1:1 tuition that will build your artistic confidence.

I am 100% confident that I can teach even the most inexperienced beginner to draw the human face in these four 2 hour sessions!

No need to Work from live models

All work in these classes will be from photo’s initially, as I believe its hard enough for beginners to learn portraiture to begin with without the pressure to work from life, but in time we may well introduce the odd model for those who feel confident enough to do so, (but no-one will be under pressure to work from life if they don’t feel up to it).

Materials

Some basic drawing materials and equipment will be available free of charge for the use of students but you will need to provide your own canvasses / canvas boards.

It is of course better if you have your own materials so that you can work from home as well, and with this in mind not only will you get expert advice on the best materials to buy, I can supply materials from Winsor & Newton, Conte of Paris & Rosemary Brushes at a greatly reduced price (often 30-40% cheaper than shop prices) making it easier for beginners to buy the essential equipment at reasonable prices!
